Banner Ad: An online advertisement located on a web page. A standard banner ad size is 468 x 60 pixels.
Browser: A program that enables the user to navigate the World Wide Web.
Commerce Server: A program which allows a server to support online credit card transactions and exchange transactions through an SSL connection.
Digital Certificate: An electronic ID, issued by a trusted third party such as Verisign or Thawte, which can be presented online to verify a party's identity
Digital Signature: Just as a paper document is authenticated by a signature, an electronic message can be authenticated by a digital signature. Digital signatures are another way to assure the recipient of an electronic message that the message is coming from the right party.
Domain Name: This is the system used to identify individual computers.
HTML(HyperText Markup Language): This is the markup language behind the appearance of documents on the World Wide Web.
ISP (Internet Service Provider): A company that provides internet accounts and connections to individuals and businesses.

Secure Electronic Transactions (SET): This is a newly developed standard for making secure credit card transactions on the Internet. Security is achieved by allowing merchants to verify a buyer's identity through a digital signature. Furthermore, customers will be able to avoid giving out their credit card numbers to merchants by submitting their information directly to the credit card issuer for verification and billing.
